2016-17 Preschool start date

To help the children get adjusted to the preschool environment, we are staggering their start dates. This means that only half of the students will be coming to each session during the first week. With a smaller amount of children, it is a little less overwhelming. We will be forwarding you a list telling you what day and time your child will be coming during the beginning week of September 7-9th. This is the only day and time that your child will attend preschool during the first week.

Regular enrollment will begin the following week, Monday Sept. 12th, with your child attending on his/her registered days.

2016/17 VVCP AGM/Orientation Night

Parent Orientation night is Tuesday September 6th, 2016 at 6:00pm. The Annual General Meeting will be incorporated into this evening as well. It is hosted in the preschool room at Brunskill School.

Attendance is mandatory for each family, as this is when all details of the preschool will be explained, including volunteer, fund-raising and toy wash obligations. Information sheets will also be distributed outlining signing up for volunteer days online. This orientation is for one or both parents only (and can include their respective stand-in who will be volunteering in the classroom); we kindly ask that children not attend.

The board will be elected at the AGM; the list of nominees is included on the Contact page. If there are any open positions, nominations will be taken from the floor. Financial statements for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2016 will be available for your review.

VVCP almost full for 2016/17 school year

As of June 20, 2016, Varsity View Co-operative Preschool is almost FULL for the upcoming year, 2016/2017 – we are accepting a few last students and accepting people on a wait list.

For current VVCP preschool members, bring your registration to the Christmas Party on December 19th. New families looking to join can submit registrations to the preschool starting on January 12, 2015 at 8:50 AM.

AGM and Orientation – Sept. 2, 2014

• The AGM is on Tuesday September 2nd at 6:00 pm. We count on full attendance, as this is when all details of the preschool will be explained, including volunteer, fundraising and toy wash obligations.
• Staggered starts for classes begin on September 3-5th, 2014. During that week, there is the only one session that your child will attend preschool. Regular enrollment will begin the following week.

Note that Brunskill School start and end times have changed for the 2014/15 school year, which in turn affects the Preschool’s schedule. The schedule for preschool starting September 2014 will be:
– Mornings: 9:00 am – 11:30 am
– Afternoons: 12:50 pm – 3:20 pm

Family Dance!

The Brunskill Home and School Association, along with the Varsity View Cooperative Preschool, are hosting a Family Dance for preschoolers and grades K-5 and their families, on Friday, April 4th 2014, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.

Though the event is aimed at the younger grades, all are welcome to attend.

A pizza dinner will be held in the small gym from 5:30 to 6:30. Order forms will be sent home closer to the event. A concession will have a iimited amount of pizza by the slice to purchase, as well as drinks and snacks. Glow stick sales, a 50/50 draw and face painting will also be part of this fun filled evening! Mark your calendars!
